Artist's Statement

Many media, approaches and theories in art-making
have validity. But it would be too stifling for me to begin
a painting with the intention of illustratiing a particular
idea, or bog myself down with the weight of art history.
For me, the experience of approaching a blank canvas
and painting while the oil remains fluid provides the best
opportunity to create an image.
